When searching the Web for information about adoption, you will be overwhelmed and likely confused by the vast number and variety of sites. FIRST... regardless of where you want to adopt from, eg. Russia or China, adoption by residents of Ontario and Canada are regulated by provincial laws so you need to focus on provincial legislation and respective websites.

You must be definitive and focused. Narrow down the issues or topics...

Domestic adoption? Consider information about ... preparing your Family Profile; Openness and benefits for all parties; Impact of Foster care, Separation and Loss, Impact of abuse/neglect on child development.

International adoption? Preparing for cross-cultural/racial adoption, Travel issues, Specific country requirements and procedures, Impact of orphanage care on children, Children's special health and developmental issues, Building Attachments.

Lifelong experiences? of adoptive parents, of adoptees, of birth parents, Kinship adoption, Stepparent adoption, Reunion experiences.

Costs? Short term and Long term? Loans and subsidies? Training and Resources for adoptive families? Support Services/groups? Cross-cultural/racial books?
