Adoption News for Summer, 2010!

TAKE A LOOK… at Ontario’s Waiting Children!
Many of you are familiar with AdoptOntario. Now it has a new look and was recently re-launched with many new features.

The website continues to post photos of Ontario’s Waiting Children; ie. Children who are legally available, are living with a foster family, and are waiting for an adoptive family. After obtaining a password, you can view these photos while you are in the early stages of considering adoption. After you have completed your homestudy and training, you can also register on the databank.

Why register on the databank? You will have access to video presentations of Ontario’s Waiting Children, and you can then respond to be considered for one of these children.

As well, remember that every Children’s Aid Society in Ontario has children of all ages and circumstances who are waiting for a permanent home. Not all children are placed on the AdoptOntario photolisting, so once you are registered on the databank, you become known to child welfare agencies in Ontario who may contact you to discuss becoming a family for one of their children.
